The Thomson Police Department has confirmed a daycare bus driver has been arrested after a 4-year-old child was left on a bus on Monday.

A school bus driver in Grapevine has been arrested after police say he shot his neighbor, prompting lockdowns at multiple campuses in the Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District. District officials confirmed Shenkoru Meketa was fired immediately after they learned of his arrest.

Terri Shore, a Hamilton Southeastern Schools bus driver, was fired and charged with criminal recklessness and consuming or possessing a controlled substance after being caught drinking while driving an occupied school bus in April.

Ryan Mastelotto this week was sentenced to 20 years in prison with parole eligibility in eight years. Mastelotto, unprovoked, attacked a 78-year-old RTC driver in February 2025. Video from an RTC bus showed Mastelotto had been sitting at the back of the bus when he walked up to the driver and asked him to stop, according to the DA’s office.
