Authorities say a vehicle explosion on Congressional Lane in Totowa Monday morning was likely caused by a leaking acetylene cylinder in the trunk. A 28-year-old man who was inside the vehicle was able to get out on his own and was taken to a hospital.

"A 28-year-old male, who was inside the vehicle at the time of the explosion, was able to exit the vehicle on his own," Acting Police Chief Brian Mulroony said. A Passaic County neighborhood was shaken awake on the morning of July 13 when a car exploded.
