The Lyrid meteor shower peaks in the early hours of April 22, offering up a possible feast of impressive shooting stars and the occasional fireball.

A bright fireball meteor lit up the night sky and streaked past the St. Louis region Wednesday evening with locals reporting multiple sightings.

Thursday will still provide an isolated afternoon shower or two, but most of the day will be dry – certainly much drier than Wednesday afternoon.
