NASA鈥檚 DC-8 aircraft flies low over Los Angeles, as scientists onboard collect data on urban emission and atmospheric chemical reactions. The project will continue its investigations flying at low altitudes over Chicago, New York, and Toronto to measure pollution sources and their effects on climate and air quality. If you find yourself in one of these urban metropoles this summer, keep an eye out for the largest flying science laboratory in the world! 鉁堬笍 馃敆: https://go.nasa.gov/43xu8GS | NASA's

From idea to drawing to flight! 馃挕 馃帹 馃殎 By using NASA Armstrong's fabrication capabilities, a unique NASA pod was produced to advance computer vision for autonomous aviation. After the pod was built, it moved to NASA Armstrong鈥檚 Engineering Support Branch, where electronics technicians and other specialists installed instruments inside of it. Once completed, the pod went through a series of tests at NASA Armstrong to make sure it was safe to fly at NASA's Kennedy Space Center on an Airbus H135

When a handful of aeronautical researchers came to the California desert in 1946 to explore supersonic flight, little did they know that they were building NASA鈥檚 home for the design and testing of experimental aircraft. We carry on their pioneering work with pride. Happy 110th NACA! On Aug. 25, 1997, NASA launched the Advanced Composition Explorer, or ACE satellite to study energetic particles travelling through space. Discover space history 馃憠 https://trib.al/Jc9tjFa It lifted off from Kennedy Space Center in Florida on a Delta II rocket and spent the next three and a half months making its way to its orbital post near the L1 Lagrangian point, a point of gravitational equilibrium between Earth and the sun. There, the spacecraft is monitoring the stream of accelerated parti
