Sakuting is a dance with sticks, usually made of rattan or bamboo. A dance of the Ilokano Christians and non-Christians believed to have originated from Abra. Harvest is a season of rejoicing for the people in the Cordillera. During the harvest season, women in Abra chant while men pack and carry the crops to the granary. Sakuting, a dance from the province of Abra, was originally performed solely by boys and portrays a mock fight using sticks. Dancers use one and two sticks throughout the performance to tap the floor and each other's sticks.
