🫤 Is the deficit model better than the strength-based model? 🫤 The two serve different purposes, and we need both. We need to empower ourselves by recognizing our strengths and natural abilities. At the same time, as long as the world is built for neurotypical people, we need access to funding for research, medications, accommodations, and modifications. Allowing people to know their potential challenges is good, but you need to tell them their potential strengths as well! The stigma built up around these things stops people getting assessed due to fear! Secondly, not being addressed won’t actually stop any of those fears!
