Restoration works have begun on our Grade I listed 'Great Stables' building, designed in the mid-18th century by architect James Paine. Above the entrance is a clock tower with a timepiece by Joseph Kirk. Even today, over 250 years later, it chimes on the hour, every hour. The family coat of arms over the West Gate was carved in stone by Henry Watson in 1765 and features real stag antlers.
