How to Grow Hay

How do we take hay samples? We use a core sampler to cut into the core of 15 to 20 different bales of hay all from the same field or producer. This way the sample represents a broader picture of what we will be feeding our horses for the next 6 months. Why do we take hay samples? We take samples of each type of hay we feed to be analyzed by a lab so we will have a better understanding of its quality.
