On September 4, 1942, all elderly and sick residents and children under the age of 10 were ordered to be deported from the Lodz ghetto. The remaining residents were forbidden from leaving their homes while deportees were rounded up, a curfew known as Gehsperre. Ray Kaner was there with her family, and she shares her recollections of these horrific events in this video.
