Let’s address some of these common but absolutely incorrect comments, starting with snapping turtles biting entire limbs off people. While there’s plenty of recorded cases of alligator snappers removing fingers (and anecdotal tales of commons also removing digits), no turtle has ever been recorded removing an arm or leg. That’s totally false and ridiculous. You certainly want to be careful around them anyway, and the best way to stay safe is leave them alone and let them enjoy being turtles. #al
