Intelligence takes many different forms in the bird world, and problem solving capabilities are what is most familiar to us. While it is not accurate to compare intelligence across species or class, many try to align corvid (raven, crow, jays, magpies and rooks) intelligence with toddlers. I can see where this is tempting. These birds are capable of counting, problem solving with tools, facial recognition and many other skills. But they aren’t humans in a feathered body bag. They are birds with
