Before and after of Blatten, Switzerland — a village buried on May 28 following the collapse of the Birch Glacier. Around 90% of Blatten was overtaken by millions of cubic meters of ice, rock, and mud. Thanks to a full evacuation days earlier, prompted by smaller preceding slides, mass casualties were avoided — though one person remains missing.
