Freezing rain moved into the Twin Cities metro Tuesday morning, creating hazardous driving conditions and leading to numerous crashes across the region. Between 5 a.m. and 11 a.m., the Minnesota State Patrol reported 128 property-damage crashes along with 14 injury crashes on state roadways. Troopers also handled 32 vehicles off the road, 16 jack-knifed semis and six spinouts. One fatal crash was reported during the same timeframe, on Hwy. 169 in Mille Lacs County. | MN CRIME

The state of Minnesota and the Twin Cities are suing the Trump administration, arguing the widespread federal immigration operation in the state is "a federal invasion of the Twin Cities," according to a lawsuit filed Monday. The suit was filed shortly after Illinois and the city of Chicago also sued the Trump administration, alleging the Department of Homeland Security has terrorized residents in "organized bombardment." Both suits argue the federal government is violating the Tenth Amendment.
