FTP test day… YAY!! 👀 Not glamorous. Not enjoyable (ok maybe a little bit…) But absolutely essential. FTP or Functional Threshold Power, is basically the highest power you can hold for an hour. Instead of riding a full hour at max effort we use a 20-minute test to estimate it. With a series of Ironman goals next year, and facing a big winter training block, my coach and I needed a clear picture of where the engine’s at. So: Fuel → rice crispy squares coffee Prep → lower-limb activation Warm-up
