The halogens are a fascinating group of elements in the periodic table, known for their distinctive physical properties. These nonmetals include fluorine, chlorine, bromine, iodine, and astatine. Halogens exhibit unique characteristics such as varying states of matter at room temperature, distinct colors, and strong reactivity. Fluorine and chlorine are gases, bromine is a liquid, and iodine and astatine are solids. Their vivid colors range from pale yellow (fluorine) to deep purple (iodine), ma
