It’s a lot. The toilet, the running water, the microwave, the outside, the car, the dishes, the everything. The audiologist tells me it’s normal to find all these sounds jarring. They tell me my brain is just having to process sounds it hasn’t heard in a long time. They tell me if I wear the hearing aids enough my brain will acclimate and all will be good again (plus I will hear things I WANT to hear). But in the mean time, it’s a lot.
